Dates Mango Chutney Recipe (khajur amchoor chutney)

  • 1 cup Dates (khajur)
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Dry Mango Powder (amchoor powder)
  • ½ teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Garam Masala
  • ½ teaspoon Dry Ginger Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Salt
  • 2 cups Water
  • Salt



  • Remove the dates’ seeds and chop the dates into small pieces.
  • Boil the dates in 2 cups of water until they become soft.
  • Let them cool, and then puree them with water using a blender.
  • Transfer the puree to a pan and bring it to boil over medium flame.
  • Add dry mango powder and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Turn the flame off and then add red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, dry ginger powder and black salt.
  • Mix all ingredients and check for salt and spices.
  • Let it cool and it is ready to be served with the snack you have prepared.


  • You can keep this chutney in an air tight container and freeze it for up to a month.
  • You can also change the thickness of chutney by changing the quantity of water.
